The EdgeCAM 2024.1 release, revolutionizes turning, milling, and WireEDM operations by introducing advanced features aimed at improving productivity and reducing manual interventions. This new version brings high-level machine utilization and production scaling, with a specific focus on electric vehicles and aerospace industries.
Key Highlights
- The Race Line Finishing Cycle (Preview) targets electric vehicle production, while the addition of Multiaxis Machining and Rotary Machining revolutionizes five-axis operations. Significant enhancements for milling operations include improved chip prevention, air machining prevention, better cut increments, and fixture avoidance.
- Rough milling cycle witness introductions like SWARF Clearance, enabling better tool management by tool life, and turning enhanced grooving with a new modifier. Wire EDM operations benefit from smart tag removal and triangular tags, intended to prevent premature detachment of cut pieces.
- In essence, EdgeCAM 2024.1 fuses enhanced control and smart toolpath separation, delivering efficient, agile, and precision-based CNC programming.
