GibbsCAM Version 12 Highlights.

The main theme for 2017 release is the updated User Interface (UI). Gibbs will now offer the ability to customize
an interface to meet your needs, all while maintaining the traditional GibbsCAM personality, character, and
feel. The v12.0 UI brings an up-to-date look and an ability to customize, along with ease-of-use features that
users expect. These changes bring GibbsCAM into the modern era, making it more familiar and inviting to all users while preserving the powerful simplicity that experienced users have come to appreciate.

Customizability! You have an almost total ability to customize the layout and location of toolbars, menus, and
user defined shortcut commands now offered. If you want to add a floating toolbar containing the items you’re
constantly using — it’s easy. If you want to remove items you rarely or never use — it’s easy. If you want a
toolbar on top, along the left or right, along the bottom, or floating— it’s easy. Almost every menu, toolbar, and
palette can be customized to suit your needs. but the system also independently remembers the last customizations made, whether saved or not, and restores them when GibbsCAM is next started.

The Process list puts processes and actions at your fingertips, rather than requiring you drag from the CAM
(Machining) palette. Workflow has been streamlined for the commonest actions, such as choosing a process
type, changing the tool for a process, or Do It / Redo / Clear. Process groups are even easier to organize, store,
and load. Right click anywhere to Do It / Redo / Clear Markers. Machining markers and utility markers and tools
and process tiles can now be sized to your preference. Do It and Redo buttons, formerly on the Machining palette, are now available whenever and wherever you need them.

A Few Other User Benefit Features that will really boost productivity and efficiency are:

- Document Control Dialog provides a new tab, Multi Part. Its pull-down menu offers choices like Part Duplication MultiPart Machining: Rendering and DCD parameters for Type and Grid, for X & Y locations & custom layouts. This is a huge time saver and now see all the parts render but only program one part.
- New VoluTurn is an included option for GibbsCAM, where similar constant-load algorithms are applied to turning, to reduce tool wear and increase throughput. VoluTurn is a powerful new toolpath technology that can significantly improve the machining of any part. Now standard for all lathe users.
- Added new Toolpath Color Mode Manager lets you change the color values associated with operation numbers, tool numbers or feed rate. Increases visual TP knowledge, very easy to see and understand, and more visual info for the tool path graphics.
- Clearance Volume, for advanced machines, such as machines with trunnions or cradles that support a table that can tilt, Machine Manager now allows the MDD to be defined so as to offer the end user a global clearance offset value instead of having to analyze and define distinct clearance planes. This will minimize retracts for all indexing moves; supporting 4 & 5 axis.
- All Advanced3D toolpath now recognizes and avoids fixtures. Adaptive Pocketing: The algorithm used for Adaptive Pocketing has changed, resulting in greater efficiency and smoother toolpath. Many controls and parameters have been added or modified. And Previous toolpaths will change when you Redo it in v12.0.

- Mill Roughing no longer violates solid boundaries and produces a ramp through a part. (46678)
- Shortcut of "Control + T" now functions correctly for Reverse Arc. (46642)
- Part in the workspace no longer rotates when using Shift + Arrow keys in an active Search box. (46680)
- Right clicking a solid in the work space is no longer faulty and launches the pulldown menu properly. (46677)
- Simulation now displays the correct material removal without altering it based on rendering speed. (46665)
