About Flow Science, Inc.
In 1963, while at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Dr. C. W. "Tony" Hirt pioneered several landmark fluid dynamics methods, stability enhancing procedures and a unique free surface tracking technique - the "Volume of Fluid" or VOF method. In 1980, Dr. Hirt left LANL to form Flow Science, Inc., with the mission to develop a new generation of fluid dynamics modeling capabilities for industrial and scientific applications.
Since its founding,the goal at Flow Science has been to provide our customers with excellence in computational fluid dynamics software and services, giving close and careful attention to each customer's special modeling needs. This objective led to the commercial release in 1985 of FLOW-3D, a flexible and robust fluid dynamics and heat transfer program. The code was designed from the outset to support diverse engineering applications with emphasis on modeling accuracy, problem adaptability and user convenience.
Flow Science now supports a worldwide customer base of commercial, academic and government users. Our staff of scientists and engineers constantly strives to make innovative and useful improvements to FLOW-3D. We take pride in the level of customer support we provide.
