Filter Forge is a powerful Photoshop plugin and a stand-alone desktop application for Windows and Mac OS X that allows photographers, web designers, 3D modelers and other computer artists to apply over 5800 ready-to-use visual effects to their images, generate over 6000 of unique procedural textures, and create their own filters.

The key feature of Filter Forge 6.0 is full support for 64-bit operating systems, both on Windows and macOS. The most immediate benefit of the new 64-bit versions is the ability to access more than 4 GB of RAM, which significantly improves user experience with rendering large images

For macOS users, Filter Forge 6.0 introduces a new native version for macOS rewritten for the modern Cocoa API. The rewritten version comes with multiple user interface enhancements such as support for trackpad and Apple Magic Mouse.

For filter creators, Filter Forge 6.0 introduces mappable checkboxes, a new parameter type which was added to 33 existing components. It gives filter authors more expressive power by allowing parameter mapping, the foundational principle of Filter Forge, to be applied to component parameters defined by checkboxes. And finally, users can now rearrange filter presets on the Presets tab via drag-and-drop.

Filter Editor

Seamless Tiling
Most filters in Filter Forge support seamless tiling, even for non-square textures.

Filter Forge can generate diffuse, bump, specular and normal maps – all are anti-aliased and most are seamlessly tiled.

Resolution Independent
As all filters are generated procedurally, any filter can be rendered in any resolution without losing a detail.

New Features Added in Filter Forge 6:
Full 64-bit support
For years, the legacy API prevented Filter Forge from utilizing all available memory, hampering rendering speed and stability. Forge 6.0 introduces full 64-bit support for performance and stability improvements.

Mappable checkbox inputs
Filter Forge 6.0 updates 33 existing components by making their checkbox inputs mappable, enabling greater flexibility in filter creation.

Support for drag-and-drop on the Presets tab
Every filter author must have stumbled into this: you create a filter and want to carefully select presets to showcase its usage, but arranging filter presets is pain. With Filter Forge 6 the pain is gone: you can now drag and drop presets to reorder them.

Fixed an issue with the Circular Arc component.
Fixed an issue where nested Loop components were no longer allowed.
Fixed an issue where a loop with a large number of iterations could lead to a crash.
