What’s New in CAMWorks 2021 – SP3

1. CW-109566 CSR-17052 Toolpath For the specific part the display of the Contour Mill toolpath for a Curve Feature is incorrect with the options of CNC compensation On and toolpath center without compensation.
2. CW-109440 CSR-15026 Operation The values set for the Sub spindle Work Coordinate System in TechDB are incorrectly displayed in CAMWorks.
3. CW-109156 CSR-16883 Toolpath The posted code of Volumill toolpath contains very small arcs which result in errors on the machine.
4. CW-109142 CSR-16848 Operation With the specific TechDB, a crash of CAMWorks is seen when the user attempts to save the tool crib in a mill part.
5. CW-109130 CSR-16577 Toolpath In some of the parts having 3 axis or Multi Axis operations, it is observed that CAMWorks freezes while generating the toolpaths.
6. CW-106664 CSR-15860 System The specific part cannot be opened in SOLIDWORKS when CAMWorks is set as an add-in and any attempts to open the part will result in a crash of SOLIDWORKS.
7. CW-105477 CSR-15461 Assembly For the specific assembly, importing the cam data from the part results in a crash of SOLIDWORKS.

11. CW-100328 CSR-13240 System When CAMWorks is upgraded using a latest service pack then, the user defined mill tool holders saved under the CAMWorks data folder are deleted.
12. CW-99403 CSR-12971 Operation In TechDB if the same thread designation is defined for different hole types then, the operations generated for each feature in CAMWorks will have operations from all types of hole features. This results in each feature having multiple sets of operations generated.

CAMWorks for SOLIDWORKS was the first fully integrated computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) solution designed exclusively to operate in SOLIDWORKS and the first to offer knowledge-based, feature recognition, and associative machining capabilities within SOLIDWORKS.

CAMWorks uses the same SOLIDWORKS geometry to generate toolpaths to ensure the part you machine is the same part you’ve modeled. Toolpath simulation allows users to compare “as designed” parts to “as machined” parts. The part model-to-toolpath associativity in CAMWorks increases machining productivity and lowers manufacturing costs by eliminating time-consuming CAM system rework due to design updates.

CAMWorks eliminates the drudgery of CNC programming with Intelligent Machining through automation. Pioneered by Geometric Technologies, this suite of tools automates the generation of toolpaths based on a knowledge-based database. It eliminates hours of complex programming through Automatic Feature Recognition (AFR) that automatically defines prismatic machinable features, while the TechDBTM (Technology Database) defines machining operations to automatically generate accurate toolpaths at the click of a button.
