Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D 2022.1 Update

The software developer Autodesk is pleased to announce the availability of AutoCAD Plant 3D 2022.1 Create and edit P&ID’s, 3D models, and extract piping orthographics and isometrics with industry-specific toolset for plant design.

Fixed Issues
Problems Reported Through the Customer Error Reporting Utility
As a result of the detailed information that we received from customers who used the Customer Error Reporting Utility, we were able to identify and fix several defects including the following:
Piping
Occasional crashes when switching projects with an open custom part dialog box.

General Update Content
The following defects have been fixed:
General
- FIPS compliant encryption algorithms are now supported.
- Opening a drawing from the Project Manager correctly displays the proxy warning dialog box.
Collaboration Workflow
- Boolean values in selection lists are updated correctly when checking in the project settings.
- String tables are now uploaded to the cloud when checking in the project settings.
Project Settings
- Relationships between database records are now updated correctly.
Project Compare
- Project Compare correctly synchronizes the orthographics cube settings.
- Missing columns no longer causes Project Compare to fail.
P&ID
- The "from" property is now updated for the new pipe lines.
- The toolbar for editing P&ID object's block now displays as expected.
- Reducer sizes correctly update after reversing the flow of a pipe line.
Piping
- 3D snap correctly works on an equipment which is converted from a block.
- Bolt length is now calculated correctly for wafer connections.
- Pipe routing now uses the correct UCS settings.
- Tag of a piping line group can now be assigned when the mapped P&ID line group has a different tag format.
- Substituting gasket no longer breaks the flange connections.
Isometrics
- Bolts with imperial units now display the correct format in the reporting tables.
- Flange symbols at the ends of fixed length pipes no longer overlap.
- Adding a new comment in the ISO style editor no longer remove the existing comments.
Orthographics
- Annotation leader line is now placed correctly according to the text location.
- Generating an orthographic view no longer causes an access violation when loading the Advance Steel object enabler.

AutoCAD 2022 features several industry-specific toolsets, such as Architecture, Mechanical, and Electrical, that have libraries containing hundreds of thousands of intelligent parts, symbols, and features. Autodesk conducted productivity studies to track how designers can save time with these specialized toolsets.

Plant 3D Toolset

With our latest updates to the Plant 3D toolset, experience a redesigned user interface which simplifies and extends the isometric dimensioning capabilities and provides access to the Iso Style Editor for advanced configuration of the IsoConfig.xml in the Project Setup dialog box.

With the new project compare feature, you can compare an entire Plant 3D project configuration and choose what to sync from one project to another.

In addition, we improved the existing Ortho Offset Location feature to allow the display of different coordinates in the Ortho drawings instead of just the coordinates where the model was created.
