Why back to my love?
Because I dedicate this album to the memory of my wonderful husband, best friend, great father, and a rare politician, Ali Dincer.
Because with this album, I return to my love, jazz. In my singing career, 1 have different albums with: ethno-jazz (Balkanatolia, Illusory Eternity), modem jazz (Chamber Music Life, Paris Zagreb), Russian/ Gypsy romance songs (Marcanja), Children's songs (Songs For Young and Old), mixes of different musical styles (Voice of Rainbow, my last album 30 Years On Stage), etc. However, I never had one with only classical jazz standards.
For me, jazz is the music of the free soul. The songs I have chosen for this album are those that I have sung during my years of musical education in the musical academy and conservatory, outside my belcanto/classical training.
These wonderful songs are writing in the begging and middle of the past century (20thC), have become classics that are loved and listening to by a few generations. This Is music written with love, which we modern people especially need. We are surrounded by technical wonders on which we are getting increasingly reliant on, and are forgetting the most genuine and endless feeling-love.Yildiz Ibrahimova
