Taking their name from the 60's B-film of Satan's Sadists, the line up of Dave Pilgrim (guitar/ keyboards) Bobby Pilgrim (guitar), John Pilgrim (bass), Scott Pilgrim (guitar) and Ted Pilgrim (drums) got together in 1992 under the moniker of Satan's Pilgrams. Being compared to the Northwestern legends of The Ventures, The Sonics, The Wailers and The Kingsmen, the band continued their relationship with second album "Soul Pilgrim" released in 1995 on Estrus Records.

Satan's Pilgrims have always been a very one-track band: they play surf instrumentals, pure and simple, and with all of the kitschy smoothness and danceability that this endeavor implies in the '90s. Soul Pilgrim delivers what's expected, although it does feature a reliance on Hammond organ sounds that's not quite as pronounced on the band's other releases; on most tracks, this creates a rump-shaking groove that manages to get a step or two beyond traditional surf revival conventions.
