In 2013, with his album Clear Fire, he was fascinating in his arduous quest of A synthesis of John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins and Wayne Shorter. Two years later, on a Feast Of Friends produced by Eric Legnini, Thiébault pursued with the same virtuosity his objective by also embarking in his trip his fascination for a group nevertheless far from the jazzosphere, the Doors, of which he revisited several songs with Originality and creativity.




In 2016, the title of his sixth opus sets the tone: Rebirth. A true artistic revival for Samy Thiébault. The affirmation of a new cycle of life and music with melodic lines inspired to the saxophonist by his Moroccan roots, West Africa where he grew up, the lands of South America where his quartet turned a lot . The classical influence is not outdone throughout Rebirth with burning and mystical adaptations of the Tables of an exhibition of Mussorgsky, also of Satie and Ravel. Interpreted in quartet with pianist Adrien Chicot, bassist Sylvain Romano and drummer Philippe Soirat, this beautiful disc welcomes as a guest the great trumpeter Avishai Cohen. ©
