Rodney Kendrick - The Secrets Of Rodney Kendrick (1993) | EAC LAME CBR 224 kbps | mp3 | ~100 mb Another name to add to the Jazz scene at avaxhome. “Rodney Kendrick was born in Philadelphia on April 30, 1960, an addition to a family of pianists that soon moved to Miami. As the Kendricks, they played piano and sing gospels, because that's what the tradition was. But it didn't stop Jimmy Kay, Rodney's father, from being heard alongside Sonny Stitt and Illinois Jacquet or Lou Donaldson, and Sam Rivers. Which is another way of saying that Rodney didn't exactly betray the family tradition when he first illustrated himself by playing with the funk and rhythm'n blues groups led by James Brown, George Clinton or Harold Melvin. But when he moved to New York for four years of study with Barry Harris --an unequalled teacher, and a rare pianist--Rodney returned to a much more classical approach to black American music. He began a career as a sideman which brought him to play with the likes of Clark Terry, Frank Morgan, Terence Blanchard, JJ Johnson, Stanley Turrentine, Freddie Hubbard, George Benson..etc.., etc.” Track List: 01 Slide The World Into Space 02 Ganawa In Paris 03 The New World Is Ordered 04 Berkshire Blues 05 Dig 06 Sharon 07 Slick Exit 08 Takin It With Me 09 Down Here Below Covers http://rapidshare.de/files/10849673/Rodken.part1.rar http://rapidshare.de/files/10849868/Rodken.part2.rar http://rapidshare.de/files/10851910/Rodken.part3.rar Password: www.AvaxHome.ru Coming up... the #1 jazz album in 1990.
