After years spent on the operatic cycle LICHT/LIGHT Stockhausen decided to write a series of chamber works more suitable for concert performances and got involved in another wide-scale project which turned out to be the last one in his life. This new cycle called KLANG/SOUND was to consists of 24 Stunden/Hours scored for different instruments often with electronic music. FREUDE/JOY, written in 2005, is the 2nd hour of the cycle.
Thanks to a couple of great Avaxians' efforts we've covered most of Stockhausen work up to the LICHT cycle. From KLANG we've already heard COSMIC PULSES, the 13th hour of the day. Now, this rip was found a year ago and seems to be no longer available on the web.
