Dave Stapleton - Flight (2012)

With this recording Stapleton mixes the classic Jazz Quartet with the Brodowski String Quartet - but this recording is so much more than just jazz with strings - it is a work that combines its different elements both seamlessly and gracefully. Everything is in balance, in harmony. Brilliant new Saxophonist Marius Neset reveals his astonishing range whilst the Brodowski String Quartet exude quality and a deftness of touch that is quite sublime.
