Daniele Gorgone Trio - River Dance (feat. Flavio Boltro) (2021)

This is the first release of Daniele Gorgone with DDE RECORDS LTD. The opening track, "if i should lose you", is one of his all-time favorite standards to which he has added a short vamp at the end of the theme in which Flavio Boltro plays extraordinary notes! "DAD" is the acronym of Daniele (the leader), Alessandra (his partner, ) and Diego (his son, (who has no alternatives).

Family relationships "father" (his dad) musician. "Moon and Sand" is one of those songs that after listening to Chet Baker's version, your life undergoes an instant transformation, here in this version a trio in 7/4. One of his favorite pianists, as well as mentor and source of inspiration (which he also had the good fortune to know and attend for a few years) is the great Cedar Walton and " Ojos the Rojos " is a personal tribute to him. "River dance" is the title track, slightly melancholic 3/4 where Daniele and Flavio pass the ball on the exposure of the melody and on the finale. If anyone likes music composed for films, surely remember the pearl of the good Arlen (who had previously written the music for the Wizard of Oz) "My shining hour", here in an uptempo version. "Cat Jumps" is really thought out ,trying to evoke the jumps that a cat makes when it plays alone, and here his partners Pasquale Fiore and Marco Piccirillo they really seem like it was recorded while viewing a video of a leaping feline.

Some time ago Daniele was commissioned a song for a wine advertisement, hence “Taste it” was born very simply, a 70's funk where Flavio Boltro gives us the coup de grace. Finally, “you stepped out of a dream”, a song that has always fascinated Daniele for its sensual and mysterious melody, here rearranged by different harmonic solutions, obviously keeping the melody unchanged.
