Bobby McFerrin is a unique musical genius. There is something in his performance, his connection with the audience, his inventive playfulness and musicality that manages to touch something primal, stirring all human emotion - even when you're at home watching and listening to a recording.
In a way, Bobby seems to incorporate everything that has happened in the past in his music, with influences from jazz, ethnic, classical and popular sources, all interwoven together in his own unique vocal performance. This music defies categorisation. It must be experienced.
I smiled, I laughed, I cried and I got goosebumps throughout this 105-minute visit into Bobby's amazing world of sound. On his own, with improvised audience participation and brilliant musical guests, this is truly a journey of beauty that all should make.
