Vialka is a French avant-progressive band in the Rock in Opposition vein. Their music is a great mixture of genres and influences such as folk, rock, punk (in their musical "attitude", mostly) and Balkan music, notably. Formed in 2002, Vialka consists of Marylise Frecheville and Éric Boros.

Boros first learned trumpet in school, before self-teaching guitar, improvisation and composition too. Since then, he has become a great guitarist and singer, doing mostly dissonant vocals. He released lots of solo albums under different names, but predominantly Hermit. Of course, some solo albums were under his real name.
Éric Boros recorded albums with Jason Flower in a band named Third World Planet, also known as TWP. He was also involved in Waste Matrix, Subgenius and Dementia.

Marylise Frecheville is an academically-trained pianist and dancer. At the age of three, she was already giving live dance and drama performances. She started to play drums in a garage band, as a teen and later learned percussions at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. She released one solo album and two others with a band named Allun.

Vialka has a lot to offer with its music. It blends energy with humour and has a refined musical language. They released four albums, one split with Kruzenshtern I Parohod and two videos, all of great quality. They collaborated with influent artists such as Damo Suzuki and Jacopo Adreini and founded their own label, VIA. For lovers of craziness and rewarding music, this band is highly suggested.
