Recorded in celebration of Concord Records’ 30th anniversary, Live at Montreux – Voices of Concord Jazz features some of today’s most compelling vocal artists, captured live at one of the world’s most prestigious jazz festivals. Starting with intimate, vocal-with-small-group performances by Peter Cincotti, Karrin Allyson, and Monica Mancini (with special guests Dave Samuels and Tom Scott), followed by rousing vocal-with-big-band performances by Diane Schuur, Curtis Stigers, Nnenna Freelon and Patti Austin (with the world-renowned WDR Big Band with the perennially swinging Gregg Field on drums), Live at Montreux – Voices of Concord Jazzis vocal aficionado’s delight throughout. Making this the ultimate live vocal event, also featured are inspired vocal duet performances—Curtis Stigers with Monica Mancini and Karrin Allyson with Diane Schuur—and a rousing finale that brings all of the artists back on stage for an up-tempo romp through “How High The Moon.”
