One of the best serials of Goa-Trance compilations ever released. Mindbending, definitely a must have if you're an odlschool Goa-Trance lover.
This first part of the serial is more Goa than Psychedelic, cuz, let's face it, back in 1996 there was no Psychedelic Trance, there was only Goa-Trance, even though Krembo Records (aka USTA Records) became more Pyschedelic oriented afterwards. But nevertheless, this chapter is the milestone of the whole serial, so it can't be overlooked.
Now, the first Track is from Aplhanaut (Murray Antill & Matthew Hall). Now these two guys made a really great track, discharmonic and more psychedelic than Goa, but nevertheless the acid 303's are still there :D. Next is Talamasca's Tribal Journey. This track reminds me of the old Goa days. Lot's of arabic melodies, a dynamic baseline and some great background cowbell melodies ;). The third one is a well known one from the mindblowing duo Quirk (Mark Allen & Tim Healey). Cognitive Dissidents has been released more times than i can count (LOL :D) on various EPs and compilations including VA - Goa Spirt 2 - Hard Psychedelic Trance. The fourth one is from Ree.K (Rie Kurihara). Glycogen is one of her most famous tracks, even though this the only release of the track. Put in a few words, the track is very melodic, uplifting and full on. Next we jave Quirl's Dimension Disco. Not one of my favorites o this compilation, but it's a good track. Again, the 303 synth is in action in this one ;). The sixt one is Aplahanaut's New Shoes. Now this one breaks the limits :D. Chaotic melodies and acid 303's are all over this one. Reminds me a little bit of the Acid Air Raid EP by Solar Quest. The winner on this compilation (in my opinion of course) is the seventh one, Talamasca's Jungle Storm, a true legend in Goa-Trance history, released on numerous compilations (including VA - This Is… Goa: Gods Of Goa Sun, VA - Goa Head vol.3 and many others), this is one of the tracks that set the rules of how a Goa-Trance track should sound like. A track like this is PURE GOLD in the Goa-Trance community ;). That's why I'm definitely placing it as the winner track on this compilation :D. The eight and final track is by 3rd Attention (Skai Talon & Nick Matrix). It has kind of a downtempo tribal sound to it. It also sounds really oldschool and melodic, but misterious at the same time. Also one of my favorites on this CD ;).
