My favorite among the three full-length ballet scores that Dmitri Shostakovich wrote between 1925 and 1935.
This ballet music is wonderful, great, funny, elusive, punchy, amazing, elusive. A lot of different moods.
I very often listen to it.
And a great performance of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and Gennady Rozhdestvensky!
