Primal Scream’s 11th album consolidates everything you love about the eclectic Scottish band. Opener “Trippin’ On Your Love” taps into their dancefloor days on 1991’s Screamadelica, with house piano, head-bobbing backbeat and bodacious harmonies from Haim. Further along, “100% or Nothing” and “Where the Light Gets In” (with Sky Ferreira) are sleek, soulful slices of electro-pop. Frontman Bobby Gillespie is compelling throughout, looking back at his hedonistic days with a cautious eye but still delivering vocals like a snake-hipped pop star.
