Letters To Canberra is the 2010 album by Phoresis. This was released by Red Shift/Blue Shift Records.
The music on this album is incredibly fantastic. It shows great craftsmanship and care. When I first put on the CD it was amazing, very late 60's psychedelic, space music, with a very modern sound, very cutting edge. It is now my personal favorite. They are very good at "one upping" yourselves at every turn. I cant wait to spin the vinyl on my turntable with my classic 1970's Sony power amp. "SWING!!"

I have to say this album took me by surprise. This is not to say I was expecting something in particular, but as soon as I popped it in and began listening to the first song, I had this "Woah…." sensation, marked by that tingling sensation at the base of your skull and a distinct sensation that you are indeed staring into the void, but this void is far more beautiful, complex, and infinitely nuanced than you could ever imagine. True, you can find it under the psychedelic genre, and that would be fitting place for it, but as I was listening I thought it was a marriage of Sonic Youth and Stereolab, but somehow different, more a meditation on sound and texture and layers. I love this album!!!!!!!!!!!!
