This legendary band's first album is now finally available on CD! The eponymous "Maneige" was the group's first foray into the recording studio. The band's compositions, both of classical inspiration and experimental nature, and seasoned from many a live performance, were for the first time carefully transcribed onto magnetic tape, and then vinyl. From the UK to the US, from Japan to Italy, hardcore fans of the best progressive music know the worth of Maneige as quite possible Quebec's first truly innovative musical group, and this album (coupled with "Les Porches", released the same year) showcases their most ambitious side. What's more, listeners are treated to two bonus live recordings, including a previously unreleased composition (despite the appearance of several previously unreleased compositions on ProgQuebec's live archival releases!), bringing the total CD length to more than 50 minutes. Notes

Often termed scholarly, classical, and even obscure in its early days, Maneige then moved towards a more popular group sound especially after the departure of Jérôme Langlois in 1976. While keeping its original direction and spirit of musical experiment, the group achieved a synthesis of different styles. It tackled genres as different as jazz, rock, disco, blues, folk, classical, and electronic music.
