Leafblade create a powerful, yet subtle combination of lush symphonic atmospheres, anthemic refrains, potent guitar work and inventive percussion. Their powerful, yet subtle, blend of acoustic refrains, poetry and emotive vocals has been described as 'nature-mystical'.
The album extends Leafblade's dynamic range and includes elaborate orchestration in addition to idiosyncratic lute-like nylon strings and unusual multi-range vocals. By turns haunting, troubadour, far-reaching, articulate, 'The Kiss of Spirit and Flesh' is washed through with lush symphonic weaving and percussion. Thematically, 'The Kiss of Spirit and Flesh' celebrates the Poet’s interaction with Nature, sees the human condition in a transcending manner, a gateway between deeper vision and the life in the Land.
