The world’s premier symphonic group is reborn. With the release of this album, Robert John Godfrey opens up the third chapter in the now over twenty-year history of one of England’s most enigmatic bands.

From the opening House inflections of Ultraviolet Cat to the thunderous Gateway, Tripping…heralds The Enid's arrival proper into the 1990's, and was the first to be recorded at their new HQ in Northampton. Dark Hydraulic, with its samples of a Dalek, Carl Jung and Adolf Hitler, mixes House grooves with hard rock riffs and remains a high point of their live shows to this day. The title track was later re-recorded with Joe Payne, who sung his own lyrics over the melody to great effect. The album was a critical success, and The Enid were called "the absolute masters of their art…whose achievements set them apart from everything else which calls itself 'progressive'" in the Guardian.
