This reissue contains first all recordings originally Don Byas performed in a quartet for French labels Swing, Vogue and Blue Star between 1946 and 1954. These recordings that are outlined are organized so chronological and the same can appreciate Don Byas accompanied by local musicians as pianists Bernard Peiffer Martial Solal and bassist Pierre Michelot or (ultimately musicians of exceptional quality with the passage of time in Europe) and famous American figures as pianists Bill Taylor and Mary Lou Williams and Beryl Booker.
