J.S.Bach - Christmas Oratorio

Nikolaus Harnoncourt's Christmas Oratorio is magnificent, full of joy and radiant good spirits. He supplies plenty of variation in the dynamics, whizzing from quiet to loud and back like a turbocharged sleigh doing the rounds of a housing estate, and gets deliciously characterised performances from Evangelist Werner Güra and the rest of the soloists.
