First recording of legendary Brazilian Guitar Duo
Brothers Sergio Abreu (1948) and Eduardo Abreu (1949) began studying guitar with their father Osmar Abreu in their hometown, Rio de Janeiro. In 1961 the Argentinian guitarist Adolfina (Monina) Tavora took them as her students and guided them through their first years as a duo. Sergio Abreu was first prize at the O.R.T.F. international guitar competition in Paris, 1967, and Eduardo was second place in the following year. The Duo Abreu toured extensively through Europe and the Americas from 1968 to 1975 and recorded three LPs. Other recordings have surfaced in the last years, and Sergio also recorded a solo LP, released in 1981. This is their first LP, recorded in 1968 when Sergio was 20 and Eduardo 19.
