Freedom Force captures the Avengers on behalf of the US government after an anonymous member of the Avengers frames the group for treason. The Avengers are held in the governmentís new prison for superhumans, the Vault, until guilt-stricken Freedom Force member Spider-Woman helps them escape, becoming a fugitive from the law herself. Once free, the Avengers vow to clear their name and track down the member of their group who betrayed them.
Avengers Assembled: Iron Man, Hank Pym (as retired member/WCA employee), Wasp, Captain America, Hawkeye, Hercules, Black Knight III, Wonder Man, Tigra, Captain Marvel II, Mockingbird, Spider-Woman II (as non-member ally).
Other Characters: Blob, Mystique, Pyro, Avalanche, Spiral, Destiny, Spider-Woman II, Val Cooper, HP Gyrich, Raymond Sikorsky, Edwin Jarvis, Guardsmen.
