The alien subversive Nebulon seeks asylum with the Avengers while his estranged wife, Supernalia, enlists the Defenders in an effort to bring Nebulon to justice. The Avengers and Defenders battle each other but, in the end, the two aliens commit ritual suicide in keeping with the traditions of their race to atone for their misdeeds.

Avengers Assembled: Thor, Iron Man, Wasp, Captain America, Beast (as Defenders member).

Other Characters: Nebulon, Supernalia, Wong, Silver Surfer, Valkyrie, Gargoyle II.
