At last summer is in full swing and this month we can enjoy some of the longest days of the year. Whether you plan to spend those extra daylight hours out in the garden or by doing some long-awaited decorating we’ve got plenty to inspire you in this issue. Turn to page 36 for our pick of this season’s hottest outdoor living trends – from casual country to cool
coastal, exotic Moroccan to tropical brights – you’re sure to find a look you’ll love. There’s been a lot of buzz recently (if you’ll pardon the pun) about making our gardens more wildlife friendly. But don’t think you have to have a huge garden or need to turn your entire lawn into a meadow. On page 114 we’ve got lots of ideas and tips for small changes and additions you can make to your outdoor space that will make a huge difference to our British wildlife, plus on page 117 we’re giving away three free buddleja plants to help you get started. And if you’re feeling crafty, turn to page 60 to discover our beautiful projects designed to help our garden birds. The long, warm summer days are ideal for a spot of painting and decorating, so check out our gorgeous romantic colour scheme ideas on page 20 which are perfect for a soft summery feel. If you’d rather spend time out in the sunshine than doing DIY, then take a peek at our quick kitchen fixes on page 48, where we show you how to give your kitchen a whole new look in hours rather than weeks. However you plan to spend this month, indoors or out, I hope the sun shines for you wherever you are.
