    Welcome

Well, if you can’t spend your time outdoors in August, then when can you eh? We’re keeping our fingers crossed that this summer is going to be a scorcher, so we’ve filled this issue with loads of great ideas for making the most of your outside space. Our makeovers this month show how three clever readers have transformed their sheds and garages into gorgeous garden rooms (p.24), while on page 114 we show how you can create a cosy, relaxing hideaway in your garden that’s perfect for retreating to with the latest copy of Your Home and a glass of wine!

I know lots of you enjoy making our craft projects and in this issue we’ve got plenty of clever makes that will perk up your outdoor space a treat, from our upcycled garden bench on page 62, to our kids’ tipi on page 64. They all look amazing and will save you pounds compared to shop-bought versions. If you’re thinking about investing in some power tools to help tackle your overgrown lawn or unruly hedges, then check out our buyer’s guide on page 56 for the best buys to make gardening less of a chore. Lovely though it is to have the summer sunshine streaming in through your windows, sometimes you need to keep the sun’s glare out, so on page 36 we’ve put together a great guide to buying curtains and blinds to help you make the right choices for your windows.
Finally, if like me, you have a tiny bathroom, take a peek at our brilliant space-saving solutions on page 48. They’re all small but perfectly formed!
