NEW JAGUAR & RANGE ROVER SUVs
Land Rover fills the gap between the Range Rover Evoque and Sport with its most road-focused model yet. While you can still get the fullsize model, it was joined by the smaller Sport back in 2004 and the baby Evoque in 2011. The trouble is, nearly £30,000 separates the base Evoque from the entry-level Sport. The answer? Make a fourth model: the Velar. Named after the prototypes of the original Range Rover created in the late 1960s, the Velar is a five-seat SUV that combines rakish looks, a decent slug of practicality and lots of technology, including a twin-screen infotainment system. Now while Jaguar may have been slow to enter the SUV market, but its first effort, the F-Pace, has since taken more than half of the brand’s sales. Like most late bloomers, then, Jaguar is keen to make up for lost time, with this smaller E-Pace the first of three additional SUVs on the way.
