Shrimp Production

As disclosed by the Chairman of Shrimp Club Indonesia (SCI), Iwan Sutanto, at the beginning of this year an integrated shrimp company domiciled in Lampung was forced to stop shrimp farming activities. This, Iwan said, can certainly have a significant impact on national shrimp production, because it can lose production up to 70 thousand tons per year.
But this situation, continued Iwan, it opens opportunities for the independent shrimp farmers to grow. Mangkrak shrimp ponds that are operated again and the opening of new pond land began to grow. The old shrimp actors began to exploit the land, while the shrimp started from the scale of the household until the intensive scale continues to emerge.
