In the February issue of The STAT Trade Times, Shreya Bhattacharya takes a deep dive into the much talked about digital transformation of the global air freight industry. In the cover story, she does a reality check, identifies the reasons for such a slow pace of the digital makeover of the air cargo industry and recommends solutions for faster adoption of digital technologies.

In the industry report Nahida Jafferi writes on some of the advanced innovations in the temperature controlled transport of pharmaceutical and life-science products. The solutions are meant to enhance the quality of pharmaceutical cargo on the move and maintain its integrity right from its origin to destination.

In the regional report Shalini Nair turns the focus on Africa, the continent that continues to be an investment hub with several emerging economies within it. However, the report argues that with Brexit uncertainty still around, African governments need to come up with redefined trade and diplomatic relations with a post-Brexit Britain and Europe, for more diversification and industrialisation.

Nahida Jafferi picks the key takeaways of the policy which aims to make India a transit cargo hub of choice to-and-from other parts of the world and push India into the top air freight market in the world.
