Issue 154 is filled with both lightweight knits for the last weeks of summer, and cosy sweaters as we look ahead to autumn. Fabulous colourwork includes a floral Fair Isle tank top by Mary Henderson, and a bright slip-stitch T-shirt by Caroline Birkett. We have elegant lace projects, too, such as Lisa Richardson’s lovely longline jumper and matching cowl, and Bronagh Miskelly’s floaty shawl in a stunning hand-dyed yarn. Sarah Hatton’s shawl-collar jumper features gansey-inspired knit-and-purl patterns, while Viveka Velupillai has played with garter stitch, shaping and Shetland wool to create an elegant waistcoat. Our patterns showcase a range of special yarns, from the likes of Uradale, UK Alpaca, Jamieson & Smith, The Fibre Co. and Banshee Yarns. We explore the story of a vintage Fair Isle jumper in the Shetland Museum, meet the hand-dyer behind Irish Artisan Yarn, and go behind the scenes at Black Sheep Wools. Plus, our special supplement features a glorious colourwork sweater by Swedish designer Kristin Blom.
