Startup 360° - March 2016

The Economic Survey 2015-16 says that India has the third largest base of technology start-ups in the world with over 19,400 firms. Within one year, the number of start-ups in India has grown by 40 percent and seems to be a fantastic news for young entrepreneurs in the country. Interestingly, Indian minds are creating history across the globe too. This month we have one such interesting journey–Zilingo, a Bangkok-based eCommerce platform. When I was in Bangkok last year for an international event, I was truly surprised by the seamless 4G connectivity and smartphone penetration in the country. However, when it comes to eCommerce, it’s a near absence. Zilingo addresses these challenges and creates a platform for local vendors to exhibit their products. In addition, we also have the regular dosage of exploring the struggle and journey of startups in India—this month we have featured AwesomeChef.in, Biomatiques, elearnmarkets, FoodAbhi, Grabon, Homz N Space and R Technologies. Along with it are the news trending in the start-up world and we hope that will give a power packed performance to our readers.
