There is always plenty going on in the busy lives of the British royal family, but they seem to be having quite a banner year of things in 2016, and we are delighted to be able to bring you fabulous picture coverage this issue of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Bhutan and India, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall touring the western Balkans, and Prince Harry spearheading the 2016 Invictus Games in Toronto. The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations are now in full flow and whilst Her Majesty has already reached one milestone with her ‘actual’ birthday on April 21st, she still has her official birthday to come on Saturday June 11th, so the partying continues! We are bringing you full coverage of the spectacular concert held in the grounds of Windsor Castle to mark the monarch’s 90th. The Queen was joined at the event by the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. The show included hundreds of horses, a dancing Shetland pony, a pantomime horse and a pantomime corgi. Acts from around the world entertained the 6,000 spectators and the performers all gathered on the showground as a giant model birthday cake was brought out for the ending. 007 always seems to get a look in with the Queen these days and Dame Shirley Bassey sang the James Bond theme “Diamonds Are Forever” before Happy Birthday was played, followed by the National Anthem. Writing in the official programme Prince Charles wished his mother “the happiest of very special birthdays. And so say we all.
