If you liked the Ombré Stars project in our last issue, then you’ll love Naomi’s Ombré Confetti Metallic Honeycombs quilt which uses the new ombré collection from Moda; same colours but with added bling! My Dino Trail uses big quick pieced blocks. Sometimes a child’s quilt is needed in a hurry, not least before dinosaurs or whatever cease to be their favourite thing ever! The Lindos Table Runner features a wonderful Mediterranean-inspired collection from Lewis & Irene. The Yo-Yo Log Cabin Basket Cushion features mixed techniques while the African Animals Quilt shows us how to make use of big panel prints. We’ve reached the final part of our Mushroom Village series quilt, another popular project from long-time contributor Betty Croke.
Helen has been very busy over the last few weeks. She visited this year’s Quilt & Stitch Village Show and tells us about the wonderful quilts on display. She also found time to visit the Minerva Centre in mid Wales to view the True Colours exhibition. Joanna O’Neill visited the Cotton Tree in Northumberland in Let’s Go Shopping and we read the final instalment in the Jane Austen Community Quilt Project in The Unveiling. Ann Jermey tells us about her First and Last quilts and we meet the Chet Valley Patchworkers in Introducing. And new for our June issue is a Book Club in conjunction with UKQU.
