This issue includes a Full-Size Complimentary Free Plan worth £12.50 for a 1:144 semi-scale model Torpedo Boat Destroyer, based on the warships built during the late-19th and early-20th Centuries for the Royal Navy. The model has been designed by Glynn Guest and is easy to build with full step by step building instructions included in this issue, starting on Page 22.
We also feature a new model from Andy Cope for a Jurmo Class Landing Craft as used by the Swedish Navy and have Part Two (Part One being in the January 2017 issue) of Lucy G, Phil Button’s unusual r/c sailing model that features both a traditional rig and an alternative Flettner Magnus Effect device, which works. His article details the work involved in making the concept work properly for a scale sailing model.
This issue, which was prepared in mid-December 2016, also has a report from the successful Blackpool Model Show which was sponsored by the Component Shop and ably supported by numerous local model boating enthusiasts and clubs. We also have all the usual regular columns, including Range Finder with Dave Wooley’s HMS Skirmisher taking to the water, Flotsam & Jetsam, Boiler Room and BMPRS News, so I hope there is something here for all our readers in this, our second issue for 2017.
