Our Cover story for this month, ‘Chabahar: India’s Strategic Gateway on Fast Track’ takes a look at the Chabahar port and India’s developmental efforts in the region. While analysts believe that that the presence of Chinese and Indian military in these ports will increase Sino-Indian rivalry, there are other expectations that Chabahar will diminish the importance of Gwadar port as a transit hub for Central Asian republics.
