The big story for the November issue is the first Digital Studio India Channel Awards 2016, which saw the participation of over 250 decision makers from the broadcasting, production, media, and the entertainment domains. These industry leaders came forth to cheer for the winners of the awards, across various categories, which you can read within these pages.
The success of the Digital Studio India Channel Awards 2016 was the result of the painstaking effort that the entire ITP Publishing team put in, down to the last detail. And this preparation began months ago–starting with the rigorous selection process wherein ITP Publishing’s editorial board got together with industry veterans to determine the award categories. Deciding the award winners came next. Finally, we found the assortment of stellar individuals and companies that have made an outstanding contribution to the broadcasting and production industry over the years.
The other big story this issue is about IP-enabled studios, a topic that was much spoken about at NAB and IBC this year. Vendors spoke about the virtues of adopting a virtualised infrastructure and showcased proofs of concept that showed how broadcasters could benefit by transitioning to an IP-based studio network. While the broadcasters would like to believe that the future of broadcast is IP, they have concerns about issues like interoperability and the ease with which virtualised architecture can fit into their existing workflows. We try to shed some light on these uncertainties.
This is just a primer; there is a lot more that makes this an interesting and information-packed November issue.
