As the slightly cooler October evenings start to draw in, we tend to retreat inside our homes, so it’s
the perfect opportunity to introduce the rich shades of the changing season into our interior design. We embrace the glow of autumn in our Shopping pages this issue, taking our pick of the latest homewares in cosy knits (page 11) and inviting berry hues (page 12) which are the ideal way
to introduce warmth and colour into your schemes. Our Real homes (from page 30) showcase the mellow tones and snug furnishings that will make you to want to curl up on the sofa and read the inspirational stories behind their transformations, while our Real garden (page 62) is ablaze with an abundance of fiery bright late flowering blooms. A sometimes overlooked room in a period home is that belonging to our children, so in our Decorating feature (page 15) this month, we profile the
latest design solutions that will see your little ones right through to their teenage years. And let’s not forget that October is the month to celebrate Halloween, so take a look at Our Heritage (page 122) where you will find a great 2-for-1 ticket offer to visit the Haunted Castle events at Warwick Castle – a great way to treat the whole family to a spooky day out. So grab an extra layer and enjoy!
