It’s nice to hear that Adventure Sports is coming of age in our
country, the first Adventure Sports Expo was held in Delhi, a
large number of Adventure Professionals, Enthusiasts attended
the event that was well supported by the industry and the
Government of India.
Today youngsters are looking at Adventure & Wildlife activities as
a profession with International bodies offering certifications to enhance
their passion and take it up a notch higher by training and
offering expertise in theirspecific activities, be alone Base jumping,
Para-motoring, skiing, Himalayan expeditions, Off-roading and
many other such activities.
The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has announced 2018 as ‘The Year of
Adventure Tourism’, the Adventure Tour Operators Association
of India (ATOAI) will spearhead various activities across the
country to promote adventure travel and celebrate the year of
adventure tourism. Bangalore, being the rock climbing centre of
India - it has a lot of history! My first stint was about 3 decades ago
at Ramnagara, we have put together the history and some
interesting facts.
