To show gratitude to fire protection personnel for their diligence and contribution with respect to fire
protection operations, on January 19, 2016 the 2015 Phoenix Award commendation ceremony was held at the N.F.A., with 69 full-time firefighters, volunteer firefighters, women’s fire prevention public information team members and rescue volunteers commended at the ceremony.
On the day, accompanied by Minster of the Interior Chen Wei-ren and Director-general of the N.F.A. Ye Jitang, the 69 model fire protection personnel proceeded to the Office of the President on the afternoon of the19th, where they were received and commended by President Ma. At 15:00, the Phoenix Award presentation ceremony was held in the International Meeting Hall on the 15th floor of the N.F.A., with Minister without Portfolio Lin Zheng-ze acting as the master of ceremonies. Minister Lin and Vice Minister of the Interior Chiu Chang-yu both gave a speech thanking the 69 award recipients from across Taiwan.The 69 winners stood out among Taiwan’s 10,000- plus firefighters, 30,000- plus volunteer firefighters,6000- plus women’s fire prevention public information team members and 3000- plus rescue volunteers. 30 model firefighters, 30 model volunteer firefighters, 6 model women’s fire prevention public information team members and 3 model rescue volunteers were commended.
