Japanese Recorder Master Mutsuyuki Motomura, on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of Jacques Ottotere's birth in 2024, attempts to highlight the charm of the recorder from a recorder player's point of view. The single-hole recorder, reproduced by instrument maker Fumitaka Saito as faithfully as possible to the specifications of the time, is played according to the fingerings left by Ottotere. The performance will be accompanied by the renowned Kaori Uemura and Kazuya Gunji, and will allow the audience to enjoy the fascinating sound world in which each note is rich in various colors and shadings. High-quality recording with custom-made current-transmission microphones and 5.6 MHz DSD. Born in 1674, Othoerre was one of the most important figures in the creation of chamber music for woodwinds, especially during the reign of Louis XIV and his performances at the Château de Versailles. This revolution was to widen the range, facilitate the playing of chromatic scales, and increase tonal flexibility. The year 2024 marks the 350th anniversary of Othoer's birth.Japanese virtuoso Mutsuyuki Motomura, who studied in Amsterdam in the 1980s, has a wide repertoire ranging from medieval to contemporary music, as heard on his album "A 600-year journey of unaccompanied recorder" (WAONCD-140). In recent years, he has been exploring the repertoire of his friend and fellow recorder maker Fumitaka Saito, who has made a number of instruments with the same pitch and fingering as the originals based on the latest research on 18th century recorders. This album, his seventh release for Waon Records, reflects the results of his work, including the use of a newly made copy of a French recorder. Kaori Uemura, viola da gamba, studied in Tokyo and Brussels, and is currently based in Brussels, where she performs throughout all of Europe, as well as in North and South America, Asia, and Australia. She has performed with many prominent performing groups such as Ricercar Consort, Les Arts Florissants, Les Talents Lyriques, Le Poème Armonic, and the Netherlands Bach Society. In recent years, he has released two albums titled "Yuu Yuu" and "Kagami Kagami" and is currently breaking new ground as a soloist. Harpsichordist Kazuya Gunji studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, and in 2010 won the top prize in the harpsichord category at the Bruges International Old Music Competition. Currently based in Lyon, he performs regularly with several French ensembles, including the Auvergne Chamber Orchestra, the Opéra de Toulon, and the Opéra de Saint-Etienne, and was selected as one of the soloists for Radio France's recording of the complete Scarlatti works in 2018. He is also expanding his activities as a soloist.
