Artworks of Marcel Dyf

Marcel Dyf was born in Paris on 7th October 1899. As a youth he spent his holidays in Paris and Normandy, here he observed the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements which proved a strongt influence on his later painting career.
After the war Marcel Dyf held exhibitions of his work in some of the major cities in France. In 1950 he acquired a studio in Cannes, here he met his wife, Claudine, in 1954. Claudine was 19 years old, 36 years younger than he. They married in 1965 and she devoted her life to travelling with Marcel Dyf, continually looking for new scenes to paint. Indeed Claudine featured in a large number of Marcel Dyf's paintings.

В юности он заинтересовался изобразительным искусством, особенно «плотно» он познакомился с такими направлениями, как импрессионизм и постимпрессионизм. Они-то и определили в дальнейшем его индивидуальную стилистику.

Marcel Dyf naît à Paris le 7 octobre 1899 dans une famille d'industriels originaires d’Alsace et montre très tôt une habileté pour le dessin et la peinture. Il effectue toutefois de solides études d'ingénieur des Arts et Métiers. À la suite d'un séjour au Maroc pour des travaux de construction portuaire, il est séduit par la lumière et les paysages et il décide de devenir artiste-peintre.
