Embroidery of Eastern Podillia / Вишивка схiдного Подiлля

In the publication at hand, we present only a retrospective overview of the ornaments of Podillian embroidery as found in our collection, as well
as an attempt to systematize the images of these ornaments; the thematic of their deeper comparative study, analysis, and symbolism will be the subject of future publications and research. Preparing this album for print with Rodovid Publishers, we found that we were raising many more questions than for which we were able to find answers. It is my hope that my future research will find answers to these many questions, and that my mission to do so will be taken up by future generations of researchers.

Альбом ВИШИВКА СХІДНОГО ПОДІЛЛЯ є результатом багаторічних польових досліджень авторів у досить вузькому ареалі придністровських сіл Східного Поділля. Ця праця представляє широкому колу дослідників та зацікавлених читачів структуру усталених орнаментів вишивки, які ймовірно повторювалися тут століттями. Автори роблять спробу інтерпретувати ці орнаменти, а також пояснити їхню подібність з орнаментами керамічних виробів доісторичних епох.
