Description
An introduction to the course with goals and content.
Stakeholder analysis by rating stakeholders against scales of power and interest to then analyse the result and understand if there are any changes you would want to make.
Create a communication plan based on the stakeholder rating in the previous exercise to ensure each stakeholder gets the right level of communication.
Run-through of four scenarios when stakeholders will need to be managed. The first one is a conflict between stakeholders, the second one is how to deal with an unavailable stakeholder, the third scenario is a stakeholder that does not listen to an important point you are making and the final and fourth scenario is when a stakeholder keeps requesting more and thereby introducing scope creep for your project or product. Each example has a number of steps you can take to carefully manage the situation and resolve any issues.
General advice and numerous strategies to influence stakeholders, for example how regular stakeholder meetings should be set up, how to think about escalation of an issue, how best to present data to stakeholders and keeping your stakeholders engaged in a positive way.
Tips for being successful in stakeholder management such as ensuring everyone is heard and avoiding surprising your stakeholders.
