Requirements
This is a beginner level course focused on net zero energy buildings. You do not need any prior experience or knowledge about this subject. Being familiar with the building construction industry or studying architecture will be helpful
Description
This course is approved for 0.5 GBCI Continuation Education (CE) credits.

A net-zero energy building or an NZEB is a building which meets its greatly reduced energy demand through renewable sources of energy. In other words, NZEBs have zero dependency on fossil fuels.

In terms of specific metrics, there are several ways to define an NZEB such as Site-NZEB, source-NZEB, Cost-NZEB and Emissions-NZEB. A project may choose to define their NZEB based on the goals set by the team. Meeting NZEB goals is a key strategy for the building sector to mitigate its impacts on climate change and global warming.

This course will give you an in-depth understanding of the different definitions of NZEBs and the different steps involved in achieving NZEB goals. Detailed examples of NZEBs from the world over will further reinforce your understanding of the concept. Finally, you’ll understand the different roadmaps that governments and international bodies are laying out to promote NZEBs.

The comprehensive course content is organized in six modules engaging you in a learning experience that’s fun and insightful at the same time. By the end of the course, you’ll be ready to incorporate NZEB goals into your own project.
