In this series of lessons focusing on the basic principles of graphic design
We'll begin by learning about composition and how every design element works together inside a composition. From there, we'll learn about both symmetrical and asymmetrical balance and discuss some basic rules of thumb for dividing space within a composition. Next we'll learn about establishing a focal point within a design by creating emphasis. Then, we'll learn about rhythm and how it affects the flow of our work. We'll move on from there and talk about unifying a composition using grouping, harmony and alignment. Finally, we'll learn about the importance of creating areas of contrast within a design.
