Description
This is the first of three intermediate-level English courses focused on business communication for Spanish speakers. It’s designed for students who already have a solid foundation in English and can understand most spoken English, as the instructor delivers almost the entire course in his native language: American English.

It begins with an introduction to the subjunctive mood and how this mood differs in English as compared to Spanish. This course then covers the passive voice, followed by a listening activity. From that point on, a dual learning strategy is introduced.

Starting in Module 3, the class content is business-oriented, including topics such as meetings, persuasion, negotiations, and more. Grammar concepts are taught throughout, but always in the context of real-world business communication.

The course includes over five hours of instruction, divided into ten videos and one audio recording. There are twelve downloadable study guides for at-home learning. Students are expected to review these materials before taking the final exam, which consists of 33 multiple-choice questions. A passing score of 70% is required to move on to the next level.
